Metos by Pessl offer a range of disease forecasting models for a variety of crops including vegetables.  They are run using data collected by iMetos hardware and run using the Fieldclimate system.  There are models for lettuce, onion, tomato and cucumber crops and also oil seed rape.  There is also one pest forecasting model for pollen beetle flight days.  All Pessl Instruments disease models are based on latest research work and measured with the highest accuracy sensors available.  Pessl are also collaborating with leading developers and have established seamless interfaces to third party decision support systems as well (i.e. RIM-PRO, HORTA, ProPlant, Welte, Dacom etc.).  

With the help of climatic and soil monitoring and forecasting systems from Pessl growers can:

  • WEATHER MONITORING: Monitor climatic conditions.
  • PLANT PROTECTION MANAGEMENT: With the help of disease models for vegetables and spraying window forecasts - optimize plant protection activities.
  • IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT: know when the crop is suffering water stress and when not to irrigate.
